SUMMARY:Introduction to Quilting – Quilting Techniques Workshop - Stain Glass Quilting
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop you will use your sewing skills to create a beautiful work of fabric art. You will need basic machine sewing skills to complete the project.\nYou will be working with a variety of fabrics\, piecing together your design\, and creating a stained glass effect with the fabrics. A pattern will be provided to you on the day of the workshop. This is a great opportunity to have fun and get creative with fabrics. \nThis course is made up two\, 3 hour sessions running on 05/02 & 12/02. \nWe recommend starting with one of the three designs; elephant\, turtle or landscape. When deciding which design to create\, take into account the colour scheme you have in mind. When you have made your decision\, bring the fabric of the appropriate colour to complete your project. Whether you choose an elephant\, turtle\, or landscape design\, you’ll need to make sure you have the right coloured fabric to make it come to life. \nThe bias tape that you select will be based on your colour scheme. Gold or Black bias tape. \nMaterials required for this course: \n\n1 x 14” top fabric\n1 x 14” back fabric\n1 x 14” wadding \nClover Quick Bias Tape in Black or Gold – 6mm x 10m obtainable from Amazon. \nHeat & Bond\nVariety of Fabrics \nSpray Starch from the supermarket\n505 Adhesive from Amazon\n\nYour final design can be used to create a cushion cover\, part of a tote bag or just simply framed as a personalised gift. \nI have sewing machines available for use during the session\, but if you do have your own sewing machine\, I would recommend you bring it along so that you can become more and more confident in using your machines features. \nWe will break about half way through the session for refreshments\, as sewing is thirsty work for mind and body therefore it’s only natural that there will be plenty of tea\, coffee and cake to keep us going! \nClass Length: Two\, 3 hour sessions \nMax in a class: 5 \nPrice: £90 \nEmail me to check availability and to book your place \nI also carry a stock of fabrics and haberdashery should you wish to purchase on the day (card payment facility available). or you can also browse and buy fabrics at our online fabric shop. \nVisit Watsons Fabrics
