Child Sewing Class Consent Form

I am so excited that your child will be attending my sewing class. As a parent myself, I know that every child is unique and has amazing creative ability which should be developed and encouraged. Children’s sewing classes are aimed at ages 8 and over and will help them develop new skills and knowledge, grow in confidence and experience whatever their abilities, even if they have never used a sewing machine before.

Safe working Procedures will be followed at all times and the children will be asked to follow these for their own safety and the safely of others. Teachers and tutors will follow the required procedures for safeguarding and appropriate guidelines for conduct and we expect your child to behave appropriately and not disrupt the learning and enjoyment of others in the class. Please ensure your child is dropped off and collected in a timely manner and a named adult is available to sign your child in and out on collection.

I hope your child enjoys their sewing class and is excited to grow and learn and most of all have fun!

Like anything in life, sewing is not without risk, we have a full up to date risk assessment with control measures, and safe working practices which will be explained to your child at the start of the class.

I understand that sewing includes the use of machines, needles, scissors, irons and other tools and that these activities include risks that can cause or lead to injury, and am happy for first-aid medical treatment to be given in the event of an accident. I agree to release Eli-b Create & Sew and tutors from all liability relating to injuries, loss or damage, including financial responsibility, that may occur during or after attending a class.
Your child’s participation in activities may be photographed and/or filmed and may be used for promotional advertising on our website, social media including our Facebook and Instagram pages. We will never post your child’s full name without express written consent. If you would prefer not to, then just leave this unticked.
