Introduction to Quilting – Quilting Techniques Workshop – Confetti Quilting
16 January 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
£45The quilting technique workshops are perfect for those wanting to learn the basics of the different essential quilting techniques covered over separate sessions. (please see course description here)
The sessions will run over separate weeks covering the different techniques and you can join for just the sessions you want to learn.
The different techniques are: Paper Piecing, Confetti Quilting, Log Cabin, Diagonal Strip Quilting and Applique Design.
Each technique is quick, easy and great for using up your stash or scrap fabric. You may decide to use the design as an individual piece for a scattered cushion or tote bag. Alternatively, you may decide to follow a colour scheme and use these pieces to create a large quilt repeating all or some of the designs.
During the session you will learn to create one block using the specified technique coving all the skills required. This will enable you to make more blocks in your own time which you can piece together to create a large quilt should you wish.
Written instructions, requirements and measurements will be provided.
This session is the:
Confetti Quilting.
Confetti is an applique technique using tiny confetti-sized pieces of fabric.
Inspiration is derived from an image such Autumn or Spring and quilter layers pieces of confetti cut fabric onto the base fabric to create the desired effect.
I have sewing machines available for use during the session, but if you do have your own sewing machine, I would recommend you bring it along so that you can become more and more confident in using your machines features.
We will break about half way through the session for refreshments, as sewing is thirsty work for mind and body therefore it’s only natural that there will be plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep us going!
Class Length: One, 3 hour session
