Introduction to the Overlocker Course

If you have an overlocker and are not sure where to start with using it, then this is the perfect course for you. The overlocker is a fantastic machine that really can do so much, but best of all, it will give your sewn projects that professional finish. It’s a machine that is loved and feared all at the same time, but like anything in life, once you get to grips with it and all it’s settings, you will truly love it!

During the course, you will learn how to thread your overlocker, learn how to change the tension setting, change needles, etc so that you learn how to use the different stitches and settings.

Over the 4 sessions we will also learn how to work with stretch fabrics and make the Billie sweatshirt (Tilly and the Buttons Billie pattern included).

The objective is to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to give you the confidence to work on many different sewing projects going forward on your overlocker.

We will break about half way through each session for refreshments, as sewing is thirsty work for mind and body therefore it’s only natural that there will be plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep us going!

This course will run over four weeks, made up of four, 3 hour sessions:
